wife, mom of three little ladies, expert dabbler into ALL the things, and I proudly wear my heart on my sleeve.
I view my art as more than just a pretty picture. My style encourages me to take risks, make unexpected marks with freedom, and see the reward of growth at the end of a finished piece.
My goal is to create layered, emotionally driven art that encourages the viewer to take a moment to pause, think and feel, and open their heart to the beauty revealed in uniqueness.

how it began
Naturally gifted in representational art — both sets of grandparents were skilled realism artists — she started her art practice in middle school and fell deeply in love with the process of creating art in high school. The freedom of independent study classes allowed her to focus and strengthen her skills.
She earned her BFA in graphic design with honors at Montana State University. She continued to work solely as a graphic designer for ten years before she felt the urge in her soul to pick up a paintbrush and create for herself instead of staring at a computer screen for hours on end.
the transition to abstraction
Jaylin’s first piece of abstract art was born out of a spurt of self-expression during a moment of postpartum depression after her third child was born. She let her intuition take over while she painted all over her basement studio wall.
The mere act of blending and mixing brought back fond memories of the long hours she spent in the high school art room. It was at that moment her dream of becoming a fine artist was about to come true. And she cried happy tears.
inspiration
Jaylin’s art is inspired by embracing both the heavy and light emotions and moments that serve a purpose in one’s journey.
Her quiet but strong voice is expressed through opposing elements - rough and soft layering of paint, bright and muted colors, and the juxtaposition of both balanced and unbalanced composition. The finished piece is a unique reflection of what her highly sensitive soul needed to process, analyze, and voice.
